Not a huge difference here, should be a good competition if they go that route. If anything our depth just got better.
I’m for competition but dang..between both these guys, that’s like 14 million at LG?

I can’t imagine Schreff is traded...but since he doesn’t have a long term future with team, why not see if you could grab a first?

the recent tag and trades:

2020 - Ngakoue was was tagged and traded for a 2R.

2019 - Clowney was tagged and traded for 2 players and a 3R

Clark + 3R = 1R, 3r and future 2R

-----------------

Seems like a 2R would be great, more likely a 3R and 4R

-------------

well see .. maybe this is their way of addressing the piss poor interior run game .. but Flowers isnt really a mauler like Scherff. Hes more like Wes, decent enough but not an impact player

No one is giving that much for Scherff, he can't stay healthy. You're talking allocating almost 10% of salary cap, fully guaranteed, to a guy who is a major health risk, and then must be immediately resigned vs. being under contract 4 years like a rookie drafted. We can pray a contender has major guard injuries. You can draft solid Gs with 3rd and 4th round picks and better teams do all the time and start them. Clowney is a freak of nature, ex #1 overall pick, and plays the second highest leverage position in football, pass rusher. Ngak is also an edge rusher. Clark is also an edge rusher. Only QB is more important than an edge rusher. No one is giving up nearly as much for a freaking RG as they will for dominant or talented edge rushers.

Flowers certainly mauled some people year he played for us. Certainly no Scherff, but way better than Schweitz--if he regains form he had with us. Miami such a clown show tough to tell.
