Def like adding pieces at each level on the defense. Always gonna be a wait and see but these moves are checking out and boxes so far.

Talk also that the Ravens will go after Oweh as a replacement. Anyone think this is actually likely? Would leave a sour taste in a lot of mouths if they poach someone else's signing because they screwed up on a trade, never mind the sour taste the Raiders have from their withdrawing from it. |

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I’m not buying the narrative players don’t want to be here. The raiders and titans have been most active in FA and there is no way anyone is saying “a division with chargers, broncos and chiefs? This division is ours!”

There’s nothing to it. The chicken littles of the world have invented that bogus narrative.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I think some people forget that we're competing with 31 other teams here and some of those teams were more successful last year, and aside from 2 years ago, we've been largely unsuccessful as long as some of these guys have been alive. We're middle of the pack right now, but generally on the rise. But we're not a top tier team with real SB prospects (yet), so some players are going to chase their dream now while in their prime. Others are going to maybe be more longsighted.
This is why we should be building primarily through the draft. Lock in a core of youth and let the other teams fight over most of the 27yo+ FA's. While the last 2 years made sense as a strategy given where we were (thank you Ron), I'm hopeful AP avoids win now trades and too much spending on older FA's, and really nails the draft. So far, I think, so good. |

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I also like that it didn’t cost draft capital which we don’t have a lot of. I’m good with where we landed at edge. Micah Parsons had an interesting take on Oweh - I read that he thinks he’s underrated and is only going to get better. Hope that’s right. Oweh, Chaisson, and Armstrong at DE is looking pretty solid. Chenal and Luvu at LB. And Settle, Kinlaw, Payne, Wise, and Newton in the middle of the D line. Get Downs in the draft and we are a very different defense. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
I think Love is the pick with all these FA signings so far

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread
It wouldn't be the worst idea, but if we don't grab a S or 2 this week, I'd be leaning more towards Downs. All but frees up the rest of the draft to go O.
Plus there's time to sign another RB and/or re-sign McNichols, though neither would rule out Love as having potentially one of the best RB's in the league is enticing. There's also the WR question. Might put Tate in contention. Again, further FA signings are going to reveal if this is more or less likely. |
