False start, delay and illegal shift are all pre-play, mental mistakes and we're above league average in all 3. There have been a lot of bad calls against us and missed calls for us, but these, along with holding, are potential drive killers for an offense. I can see the argument for more camp and pre-season time, particularly JD5 getting more pre-season game time, but I'm not sure how that really does a lot for these mental errors. More practice time might help, but isn't discipline really a coaching thing? The team should be mentally prepared for every situation they're likely to face and no way should they be so out of sync in the middle of a drive. |

Giants have 4 wins and JJ looks like he has new life. They are only 4-5 wins away from winning the East.

Watching Mahomes now, and it's obvious he peaked in 2022. It's slowly been declining every since. Still remains good, but def not the same.

Re: around the NFL week 7
1 maybe 2 players moving tells you that. More than that is diminishing returns. More chance of bad alignment, excess movement (leading to FS etc.). An audible might involve a complete formation shift, but if you're simply moving players around to work out the coverage, 3 or 4 is excessive and counter productive. And it doesn't do much to influence a D either as they're largely reactive anyway. The best you're going to get is a personal mismatch and that will rarely happen with a well drilled disciplined D.
How many times have we seen the O struggling to get lined up before the snap this season?... |

I'm not saying that it's not an issue. I'm just answering skinsfan's question.

Re: around the NFL week 7
I get that. What I mean is that if it is, it's an overly complicated way. And if we're both right, I'd say Blough may be trying to walk before he can run. Ramp up the playbook complication as the season progresses, don't make it too complex early in the season.
