Offensive Coordinator

I believe the problem we are running into right now is the Eagles showed teams how to attack on defense, and that's to take away Moss, and Cooley, and don't worry about anyone else, because Brunell will first look Moss, if he's not there he goes right to Cooley, then throws it away. Brunell needs to get our other WR's involved, and involved early. I believe he has to make the defense account for either Jacobs, or Thrash, that should thin out the coverage some on either Moss, or Cooley.

Then that isn't a problem with the offensive philosophy as what some here claim everytime we don't score more than 21 points. That to me just says that we need another deep threat receiver to compliment Moss. One more deep threat receiver can make all the difference in the world. If we go with another offensive coordinator (which tells me people are still not sold on Joe Gibbs which is ignorant in my opinion) then you still just have Moss, Cooley, and Portis. Like it or not, this is Redskins football and this is what has made Joe Gibbs' teams champions in the past and what has them in the second round of the playoffs now. We've seen proof that the system works. I believe this is just a knee jerk reaction. Just like several weeks ago when people wanted Gregg Williams to leave Washington after the defense looked as if it was folding under. Now, it's the samething with Joe Gibbs or Don Breaux.

Have faith in this team. Even if we don't get passed the Seahawks this weekend, you can't deny Gibbs and company have done all the right things to get us to this point.

I agree. Saying we need a new coordinator at this point in the season really seems like a knee jerk reaction, especially considering the level of success this offense has reached this year.

Is the offense all the way there yet? No, definitely not. But we're certainly on our way, and bringing in a new coordinator at this point seems pretty unnecessary.

I would tend to more of the blame on Brunell, he had a proven burner in Patten and barely used the guy. I am not putting blame on Gibbs at this point, unless you want to say he should do something to force Brunell to look for other options occasionally.

Patten is the reason I haven't given up on Jacobs yet, Patten proved himself on the biggest stage there is in football, and yet he can't produce for us? Something is not right with our offense, whether it's the QB, the playcalling, or the 3rd and 4th Recievers. Daseal made a post a month or so ago, he said while at the game Jacobs was getting open but Brunell wasen't basically giving the guy any consideration for a pass.

It's much easier for a QB to just have to options especially one's he feels comfortable with, but he has to find a repore with Jacob's, I find it hard to believe the guy is NEVER open!

I agree. If anything I liked about Ramsey he would look for the OPEN MAN. I realize plays are designed for Moss or Cooley, but if he doesn't find either of them open, he throws it away.
