Skins N Canes:

I was passing thru Las Vegas about a week and a half ago and saw that the Niners were 20-1 to win the NFC West and 50-1 to win the NFC Championship and 100-1 to win the Super Bowl.

If you believe Dorsey is going to have a break-out year, you can make some significant coin off the casinos.

Personally, I think SF will stink this year...

Skins N Canes:

By the way, the over/under for total wins by the 49ers this year is 5. If you think they are a wild card team, you should be ready to collect your money by about Thanksgiving...

Sports: What did the Vegas folks think of the skins chances to make the playoffs this year? And did you lay any money down? I'm willing to guess that a crumudgeon doesn't go with cinderella-style long shots!

Sorry about that last entry; my finger hit the wrong key.

The Skins were listed at 10-1 to win the NFC East and 18-1 to win the NFC Championship and 35-1 to win the Super Bowl at the Imperial Palace Sports Book - which is where I was for the day in Vegas.

No, I did not lay any money at those prices. Were I to plunk down some bread, I'd probably take the Skins to win it all. I can't realistically see them doing any of these three things this year, but if they get hot and make it to the first level, I'd want to have them at the huge odds to go all the way.

The over/under for Skins wins was 9.5. That seems high to me but I let it alone. I made a few other plays on over/under for team wins because they seemed attractive.

You are correct in your assumption that I bet with my head and not my heart.
