It's gold for Atlanta, because if Vick doesn't play (which seems likely)... Culpepper steps in. If he doesn't, than you've got a much better backup.
What kind of "juicy" contract are you referring to?

The semi kind.

I honestly don't know, but I figure that the latest turn of events may have raised his stock a good amount.

See, I feel the opposite. His stock can't get any lower. Here are the Dolphins, who have had horrible QB's since Marino left, and they are choosing a 37 (if I recall correctly) year old over Culpepper. They have made a lot of noise about his knees, and I feel that other teams would be wary of him meaning his stock has hit almost rock bottom. The only thing he has going for him is that 1 MONSTER season he had, and the fact that he's still young.

I'm just saying the recent events of Vick have raised his stock, since there is one more buyer on the market. Obviously, if your released your not going to be commanding serious capital.

But he's probably the best thats out there.

I can understand that point. I'm sure Culpepper's agent has called several times to Atlanta.

It's not probably by the way, there is no one out there better than Culpepper, and absolutely no one out there with better potential.

I don't see Culpepper going to the bucs with all the QB'S they have plus all of the uncertainty behind his injury. Moreover, i don't think that Daunte is exactly a Gruden type of guy (i.e. an efficient, patient passer who methodically picks apart a defense).

Raiders signed Culpepper.

Raiders | Culpepper agrees to terms

The NFL Network reports the Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms with QB Daunte Culpepper (Dolphins) after he passed a physical with the team.

It's supposed to be a 1-year deal.

Yeah, I think you're right about the one year deal, but who's going to pay 8 mil for a bench player to start out with?
I'd sign him for a couple mil a season, but for 8 mil, he can stay on free agent list.
