I also remember that in Ramsey's last game as a Redskin he had a quarterback rating of about 180 and led the Skins in a playoff win against the Giants, only to then be benched for good and traded.

The Skins should pick up Culpepper, but they won't. Once again, Gibbs' judgment about Brunell is in the way of sanity as well as being a monumental irritant. Campbell goes down, Skins go down. We have the weakest backup in the NFL. I'd give five Brunells and faily decent bucks for Culpepper. I'd also cut our other worthless backup and bring up Casey for the third option.
Excellent I couldn't agree with you more .... What a crime Ramsey was wasted for that weak armed.... Gimp Brunell.....but it's more Unbelievable He is still a Back up....:vomit:

The second I heard about Culpepper being released... Atlanta was the first team to come to mind.

Dante Culpepper is a monstrous upgrade over Joey Harrington.

Maybe they'll sign Cleo Lemon next Seriously though, how weird would it be for those guys to meet up again?

Absolutely agree...Atlanta would be pretty dumb not to explore this option.

Does anyone know how this works in terms of salary for Culpepper? I'm a little hazy as to how it works after he is cut, so can someone sign him for whatever they want?

Plus you'll be able to convince Dante to come over with a semi-juicy contract. They'll probably be able to convince him that he'll get the starting job since Vick is in all of this legal trouble.

It's gold for Atlanta, because if Vick doesn't play (which seems likely)... Culpepper steps in. If he doesn't, than you've got a much better backup.

What kind of "juicy" contract are you referring to?

The semi kind.

I honestly don't know, but I figure that the latest turn of events may have raised his stock a good amount.

See, I feel the opposite. His stock can't get any lower. Here are the Dolphins, who have had horrible QB's since Marino left, and they are choosing a 37 (if I recall correctly) year old over Culpepper. They have made a lot of noise about his knees, and I feel that other teams would be wary of him meaning his stock has hit almost rock bottom. The only thing he has going for him is that 1 MONSTER season he had, and the fact that he's still young.

Can someone tell me how Joey H is still in the NFL?? I know he has game experience but he really sucks. He's always good for 2-3 picks a game.

Well you are correct. The only thing he has done the last few years is get hurt, throw interceptions and fumble. But Miami still was in the wrong IMO.

If you were Miami, or any other NFL team for that matter how would you have handled it?

I agree it sucks but I wouldn't say it was 'wrong'.

That's business in the NFL.

I tend to agree with Matty on this. It's all about what have you done for me lately.
Look at us...we called for Arch's head when he was under performing...should we have given him another year?

For those of you who think we shouldn't pick him up, look at his stats, especailly his comp% numbers. This is a guy that WILL rebound.

Yeah, I think you're right about the one year deal, but who's going to pay 8 mil for a bench player to start out with?
I'd sign him for a couple mil a season, but for 8 mil, he can stay on free agent list.
