yeah cuz i've got a feeling there could be several possible combinations wrt personnel, even just on the d-line, and who wants to waste a bunch of time hypothesizing about things we're just not sure of... LOL.

Re: King predicts Haynesworth to Redskins

BrunellMVP, good post and very good points.

GTripp, excellent point as well. I think it's on the defensive coaching staff to make sure we maximize the potential of AH, and up to a certain point Jason Taylor. Haynesworth will have the opportunity to be at our training camp, learn our system, and hopefully along the way the coaching staff will make sure we use his talents. I think the same goes for JT, we have him now for an entire offseason, so the coaching staff needs to find a way to put his skills to use. How? I don't know, I'm not a defensive coach, however, Blache and his staff need to figure this out.

This will go down as the worst move in not only Redskins history but NFL history. I don't want Haynesworth. Sign Hall, resign Evans, resign M Washington. Keep JT and pay him 8.5, do not trade Rogers, sign Canty. As far as Haynesworth, I Just got a bad feeling about this move if it's true. I don't care how good this guy is. He is not worth the risk or the $$$

I think you're being overly dramatic my friend.

im really on the fence about this one. Of course you have the question marks about big albert's character, health issues, and that he is 27 about to be 28. But then i think when i see this guy on sundays he makes bodies drop, the guy is the best in the league at what he does and can make our 4th ranked defense ALOT better (picks, and sacks all day). I really dont know if I am in favor of this or not.

Id say make the move if we were on the verge of a Superbowl run, since we have so many holes to fill i say pass.

As much as I would like to be positive about everything, the possible cost of Haynesworth is a bit concerning. The teams has needs in the offensive side of the ball, and as we've seen with both the Titans and the Ravens, you can't win just with an elite defense. My hope is that the team focuses on the offensive line with the draft. I don't know if this means taking a stud o-lineman at 13 (if available) or trading down and get a good o-lineman in the lower first round.

I have said in the past though that I think we need better plays of the middle of the defensive line. AH can become that disruptive force that breaks up the opponents passing and rushing game. He can be the force in the middle that can push the offensive line and either get to the QB or allow the DEs to get the sacks. And hopefully a stronger d-line can lead to more turnover, either through fumbles or INTs.

I hope that once the whole fanfare with AH is over (if it happens), that the FO focuses on the offensive line. As I said, our first rounder should be an o-lineman; heck I wouldn't complain if all of our draft picks (all 4 of them) are offensive lineman.

Steelers?

Of course Jason isn't Big Ben, but our O lines were comparable.
