Re: Our 2010 First Round Draft Pick Should Be...
For all those of you that want a QB in the 1st round, can you please tell me of a rookie QB that has been successful with an o-line that can't pass protect or run block?
I think people seem to forget that not only is our pass protection shot to shit, but our line can't run block. So you're going to put a rook QB to get shell shocked in front of a shitty line, without a good running game? Great, I can't wait for next season. That being said, I would take a tackle with the first round pick. If a good QB is available, I would pick him up in the 2nd round. I think we can pick up a good RB in the 4th round. Also, let's not forget that our problems won't be solved with one draft. Personally, I'd try to sucker a team into giving me round picks for Portis or anyone else we can afford to lose and can garner some picks. But that would require a change in the FO, which I pray it happens.

Ah a guy with my line of thinking. Trade Portis for multiple picks. I would even consider trading Haynesworth during an uncapped year for possible multiple #1 picks. Even multiple second rounders would be acceptable to me for both guys(try to get 3 picks for Al if they are second or thirds). I know getting rid of Al right away sounds nuts, but if you want to rebuild a line relatively quickly that is what you need to do. The newbie that called us idiots did make an excellent point after the collective insult. We really are looking at a massive overhaul, and to me getting multiple picks fast is the way to do it. We then have room to draft a QB, some DBs, etc. Big Al is earning his keep for sure, but unless we can score points and find a way to win, his services are useless. |

There is a possibility that we could rebuild the O-line overnight (off-season), just like we did with our D-line? But of course, it all depends on what we do with our QB situation.. If we do right by the QB situation, then there would be a possibility of completely improved offense next season.. |

I know it was supposed to be about the first round pick, but overall I would not be opposed to:
1.) OT 2.) QB 3.) OL 4.) OL 5.) RB 6.) OL 7.) DL |

I pretty much like this idea, lol.. Except for 7th pick and we have no 3rd, we can wait until next off season to address defense through draft.. Although I would like us to try and find a SLB through free agent during the off season..

For the most part I agree with what you posted, although I'd like to see us go RB with a pick higher than the 5th round, and we're gonna need more LB depth. We need so much help on offense it's gross. TE is the only place we're set IMO.

Yeah but in Spurrier's blocking schemes he also had way too many plays where the backs would be one on one with the DE. not defending Ramsey but i remember many of those replays of our rb getting ran through for the sack.
