Well, Gibbs didn't exactly have huge success with Williams or Bugel either. Surrounding yourself with good people is obviously smart. But remember when we had Bugel, Williams, Gibbs, and Saunders? You essentially had 4 head-coach caliber guys. We were terrible that year. Too many cooks so to speak. Hiring an all-star staff name-wise isn't necessarily the best thing for the team.

If Sarkisian had left Washington to go back to USC, I'm pretty sure Mora would be the coach of the Huskies.
