My absolute basic expectation..if you drill a f*cking hole you can plug it up.
Get real dude, we aren't talking about a garden hose. The hole is at the bottom of the Gulf, you don't just go and put a band-aid on it like it was a little boo-boo. But I guess in our good ole' instant society, of which I am a happy member, it should have been done yesterday.

Check the facts on how much pressure this oil is under, or how deep it is. A tragic example, is the mining explosion, they weren't able to just go rushing in to try and save those guys, they had to account for what nature was doing.

I am not defending BP, I don't really know how long it would take a super well prepared team to go and stop the spill, but somehow, your basic expectation seems simply unrealistic.

So this is acceptable? WOW...Your talking about a massive company who for massive profits does this all the time claiming they have this advance technology and ability to have limited impact to the environment around them and has a pretty good track record, but accidents do happen. Yes my expectation by now is they should have the ability to stop the leak. Sorry I set high standards when it comes to potential man made environmental disasters.

It would be unacceptable if all efforts were not being undertaken to stop the leak, and clean it up. Or if the company said my bad so sad. From what I can see, they have taken full responsibity AND have been mobilized around the clock since it happened. I tell you what, if you can answer how it could have been done differently, or what action they failed to take than your opinion might have some validity, but to say that just because x number of days has passed it ought to be stopped, ignores the reality of the situation. It's like the Madden version of environmental emergency response.
