Why didn't we offer Brees 100M 5 years ago?

Salary Cap would have prevented that. We also wanted to see what we had in Campbell. Plus, I don't know if our doctors would have signed off on him. We were a playoff team at the time.

The Saints had nothing to lose.

I don't know if the Drew Brees of the Schottenheimer era would have turned this offense around anyway. Payton and Brees are a fantastic duo, but I don't know if it would have worked here.
