Smootsmack, any word on whether or not shanahan gets fired at years end if we don't do well this year? I'm hoping he sticks it out for our full rebuild. But I'm getting nervous with the media starting to grumble for his head...

I can't imagine Mike getting axed. Kyle on the other hand could be reassigned, but as GTtripp has pointed out this all-in-the-family coaching situation is dicey.

Seriously. Or Noll without Bradshaw? Jimmy Johnson without Aikman? Does Marv Levy win 4 straight AFC Championships without Jim Kelly?

It's actually one of the most impressive things about Gibbs 1.0- 3 Super Bowls with 3 different QB's, none of whom were all that great overall.

Snyder has fired people for 8-8 seasons. You don't think he would?

I think Kyle is actual a really good coordinator, but his play calling is suspect and will be suspect up until we draft and sign players that fit his system.

I've got my watch set. That seems roughly in time for a bad labor dispute.

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Panthers)

You guys are tripping...this team is as good as it was last year and it can only get better. Plus now we have a real coach and a real GM. We are building for the future though so is everyone else and no one knows what it will look like.

HTTR but be sure to not invest too much.

If we would have kept Marty this team would be SD east, I'm still mad about that

Your definitions of building and of future are a lot looser than mine. I'm sure were doing something that justifies the last two weeks. Right?

Why didn't we offer Brees 100M 5 years ago?

Re: Smoot Lays the Smack Down (Redskins vs. Panthers)

We are making steps at becoming a solid, sound football team. Last year's draft was the best I have ever witnessed in my entire life as a Redskins fan. We looked like a bunch of clowns this week and last week but look at the big picture. We are a better team than we were last year. We will continue to improve if we just keep a g**damned coaching staff longer than 3 years. I have been saying this since Shottenheimer! Bruce Allen is doing great. The Shannys arent going anywhere. If for some reason you are on a bandwagon get off right now because we need to be in this for the long haul. I want to see all of our coaches fufill their contracts for just once! Sound drafting, continuity, and moving forward wins super bowls.
