I also feel that Barkley is the more polished qb, but there's just something about RGIII that I really like. I've never been a fan of the athlete qb, but this kid seems special. I was one of the people who felt that Newton would be a bust, and he still could be, but that is looking pretty weak right now. I also didn't see the hype in Dalton, but I may have missed the boat there. That being said, Dalton went in about the right spot, if we'd have taken him in the first, it would have been a big reach, right or not.

RGIII might have a tendency to drop the ball around hip level when he throws, but his release is quick and I don't think it would be that difficult for the Shanny's to fix it. Look at work out/combine video of Aaron Rodgers, his thowing motion was a mess. A couple years worth of NFL coaching later, and he's arguably the best qb in the NFL. His release is not a reason to pass on him.

Luck is clearly out of the question and as good as he more than likely will be, I'm not in favor of going "Ricky Williams" for him

you guys are entirely missing the pint with RG# and Barley. Shanny and Kyle won't allow a guy like RG to prosper in this system. They would try to make hyim E;lway. Okay? it's true and ;you know it.

Maybe, maybe not. I don't believe in absolutes. What we do know though is that Shanny loves some playaction roll out passes. How good would RGIII look running them? The idea of having a running threat as well as someone who throws perhaps the prettiest deep ball in college football is at least intriguing.

the4 idea? shanny picked up choice off the street and statred him over helu who will be the face of this franchise next year if we don't draft RG3., he started rashhat ard choice over roy helu...and til this day he will defend that choice (pun intended) ....that's all I need to know about shanahan.

Won't win a SB as skins head coach.

I'm not exactly sure I understand what you're saying. I'm talking about having RGIII as a threat to drop a beautiful deep ball down field to Moss or Hankerson or take off and make plays with his feet. I wasn't talking about Helu or any Skins RB. As for Helu, I can't imagine how good he could be if the line play improves as well as having a legit threat to throw the ball, which is just about anyone outside of the qbs currently on the roster. Hell, he's finding lanes with Rexy.

Re: RGIII Heisman Winner

Let me focus a bit. Olay. The same coaching staff that signed Rashard Choice and cut him a week later, had Roy Helu on their roster. Mick Shanny stood in front of reporeters and said he wasn't sure if Helu could carry the load. This is also the same man that missed it on McNabb, Rex Grossman, and John Beck. I have very little confidence that if we indeed ddrafted RG32 that would let him be. you feel me? Won't happen my friend.

It's either Barkely or bust if you're a Skin fan.

Jim Plunkett. And don't be surprised if Newton or Tebow join him in the next 2-3 years.

While I'm not a big fan of Mike Shanahan's micro managing style of coaching that you mentioned, I do look back to his early days as coach of the Broncos and what he accomplished there in quite a hurry. Granted he had Elway, and play makers on the offensive side of the ball.

Now, I never saw or understood the rationale/logic in the interest in Tashard Choice nor did it make sense to me why he was let go when clearly the offensive line was responsible for not opening holes and allowing the Dallas defense to penetrate and hit Choice in the backfield. The same offensive line has made it difficult for Ryan Torain to find running room this year.

I think Shanahan lies to the media. And plus he's always not honest, as if he's holding something back purposefully. Of course he knew that Roy Helu could shoulder the load. He knew it since preseason. For whatever reason, Shanahan doesn't say what he really thinks, or tries to conceal it. I find his want of attempting to hide the truth about things to be very odd.

Re: RGIII Heisman Winner

I've been an RG3 to the skins supporter since I watched him play Iowa state this year and felt confirmed after the Oklahoma and Kansas games.

If Shanny gets to choose between Barkley and RG3, I think he will choose Barkley. Yet I can't see him passing on RG3 if Luck and Barkley are off the board for 5 reasons.

1. Most importantly, we lack play makers on offense. RG3 is a qb and a playmaker. Moss is our biggest play maker now but he is in the late stages of his career.

2. Since he is a play maker he instantly makes our running game better because defenses have to account for him. Helu has looked good but with RG3 he will look great. All roll out hand offs instantly have major cut back lanes.

3. With the threat to run he slows down all pass rushers. Our oline has looked weak when teams know we are dropping back to pass late in games. RG3 can buy his own time and completes alot of his college passes to the sideline once he starts scrambling.

4.Shanny will love his intangibles. People have nothing but good things to say about his leadership and work ethic. Things Elway had in abundance. Shanny is a very demanding coach but RG3 seems like the type of player who seeks to meet and exceed the demands put on him. A lot of football is about chemistry between players ans coaches.

5. This one is not how i think Shanny really thinks but I think should be considered. The success this year of Newton and Tebow. Less than conventional qbs have been having success in the league lately and RG3 is a better passer than either of them looked coming out of college. Both Newton and Tebow made clutch plays in college and have continued to in the NFL and RG3 has done the same.

^ I agree except Cam Newton is a pure drop back passer not just a runner like tebow, newton is a big Ben type QB but better athleticism
