I hope McCune has a long and storied career with us, but don't count Holdman out of the MLB mix. He was the linebacker we wanted last year, when we settled for Barrow.

It's early, but I actually think the MLB depth chart probably looks like this:

#1 Holdman
#2 Marshall
#3 McCune
#4 Campbell
#5 Smith

When healthy, Holdman is pretty darn good at OLB and he's supposedly pretty smart. Marshall probably will see time at MLB, but his size probably means he'll only be in 1-3 downs per series. McCune has all the measureables, has a great work ethic, and will probably be a great special teams player, but he's going to need a year in the league to be a difference maker on defense. Between Campbell and Smith, I'd bet that Campbell will be on the roster (since he's such a valuable special teamer) and Smith will be cut or put on the practice squad simply because we can't have 5 MLBs.
