Provisions for this contract that happen in four years are all but irrelevant. The contract will either have been reworked by then, or it will be time for Lavar to leave anyway.

If he makes the Pro Bowl a couple times he'll void his huge contract and become a free agent and everyone is happy (especially the Skins). It seems to me like both sides would be happy to part ways after 2007.

My feeling is if Lavar does actually make a couple pro bowls and decides to void the contract, we won't pay that extra $3M to keep him. The only way we pay to keep him is if he's played outstanding and we are very close to a super bowl.

And I'm not a Lavar hater, just the way I see it.

I could see that happening too.

It would definitely take a huge contract off the team's hands. By then he'll be 30 or older and in at least his 8th year in the league.

Could be a convenient time for both sides to move on.

But who knows, if the team is winning and he's playing at a high level...
