Ok so I'm not up on all the new rules but a co-worker said that the players bonus's don't count against the CAP?

So if that is true then we could offer both Talib and the CB from Miami, Smith, a 1 yr huge signing bonus and both a 1 mill contract each, then next year give them a nice contract over a few yrs. We could get both maybe?

Yes? No?

All paid bonuses count against the cap. Signing bonuses are prorated over the life of the contract.

Performance bonuses are paid either this year or next based on how easy they are to obtain. A bonus of 1 mil for playing a single game, the NFL will count that this year since its considered easily obtainable. A bonus of 1 mil for having 10 TD's for a RB or WR will count next year if they reach that incentive this year.

Every bonus paid out counts against the cap somehow.

I Agree with that. Finally making the right moves in march and April to win in December/January and maybe one day in February. Let Miami win right now, just like Tampa bay last year... How did it end up for Tampa bay?

Actually this has been from a NFL stand point a boring FA Class; not just the Redskins.
