There is so many problems with the way this is coming together with the Eagles team, its gonna be fun to watch this fall. My best guess is Jerry is on the phone with Minnesota and CJ Spiller's agent.

Plus 4.1M/yr for Sproles (even if they cut sproles, its a cap hit of $3.5M). So, replace Shady/Sproles (~$15M) with Murray/Mathews/dead cap Sproles (~$14.9M) or Murray/Mathews/Roster spot Sproles ($15.6M). For all those saying the Shady trade was about cap space ... I beg to differ. Philadelphia Eagles 2015 Salary Cap Table | Spotrac

This sums it up. @JFowlerESPN Basically, Chip Kelly flipped LeSean McCoy at $10M per for DeMarco Murray/Kiko Alonso at $9M per.

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings
Chiefs acquired LG Ben Grubbs from the Saints in exchange for a 2015 fifth-round pick.
It's wheeling and dealing season. Grubbs was in danger of getting cut by the Saints due to his insanely-high $9.6 million cap number as he enters year four of a five-year, $36 million deal. The Chiefs have lost a ton of offensive linemen in free agency the past two years. Grubbs, a two-time Pro Bowler, will solidify it. He hasn't missed a start in three seasons as one of the league's better guards. another smart move by Reid

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings
I think the risk assessment on their roster is probably off the charts.

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings
i really do hope this iggles experiment blows up in their face. they've just been, so... arbitrary. it's like they're taking their roster advice directly from a magic 8-ball.

Re: NFL Free Agents Signings
Yeah I still can't tell if Kelly's an idiot or genius. Currently still thinking he's an idiot, but the Murray deal makes things more stable for them and I'm still scared somehow he's going to make everything work and surprise us. Things may be good on paper, but we've seen for a decade that injuries and free agents can mess up teams and locker rooms.
