Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
Yes Bill has personnel decisions in New England that is why I would not project him to be a 12 game winner in DC. Regardless, in spite of the front office ineptness I think Bill would squeeze out 2-3 more wins a year here than Jay.

Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
The season is playing out exactly as we all knew it would.
Why bring back Gruden for another year if you’re just going to fire him after 4 games? It would make Snyder and Allen look even dumber they already do. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Heck that's the best reason to think they might actually do it!

Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
I understand that the OL is not that great. But Haskins has good legs, much better than expected. Whether we play him now or wait until next year, he will face the exact SAME ISSUES with this OL.
Think about it: next season, TW and Scherff will BE GONE. They will be replaced by Draft Picks - talented but inexperienced. We will have a NEW HC and NEW OC. BL - there is ABSOLUTELY NO assurance that next year’s OL will be any better than this year’s one. Eventually, Haskins will need to go in and face the gun fire. Fire Gruden after this game, bring in O’CONNELL and start Haskins against the Dolphins. I predict he will be better and more adaptable than those claiming he’s a precious piece of china and one tackle away from an ACL injury. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Gruden is caught off guard by how bad our 3rd down D is? I can't believe he is surprised, given Manusky is his guy, unless he truly doesn't understand defensive football. And if that is the case, he shouldn't be a HC. Manusky's play calling on 3rd down has been dire. Against the Bears he had MLB's covering slot receivers, called way too much zone in short down situations and couldn't dial up the pass rush when we actually had the Bears in 3rd and long. If Manusky doesn't know how to defend 3rd down, he shouldn't be in the job. And if Gruden can't see that, he shouldn't either. The players are taking the flak for bad play calling and if everyone can see that then surely Snyder and Allen must too? |

Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
I just don't see Gruden getting fired. There isn't anyone on this staff that can really take over, plus I do remember Snyder saying that firing a coach mid season was a terrible mistake that he made. Just don't see it. People are asking for O'Connell. Why? What has he done? He's never even called a game before, none the less be a head coach.

Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
The Fox crew was talking about it today, the jist of it was Gruden will probably be the scapegoat but he's not the problem, the problem is Allen. According to them Snyder believes we had a great draft this year and since we have plenty of talent the problem is Gruden.
I swear to Christ if that is anything close to accurate and Bruce somehow keeps his job... |

Bruce is basically Snyders 3rd arm. He isn't going anywhere.
Its getting to the point where I'm actively going to root against the team. Snyder and Bruce don't deserve anything but being the bottom feeders they are.

Re: How Long Will Jay Gruden Last This Season as Head Coach?
When I hear this announcing crew sweet talking Ryan Connelly it makes me ponder how he got into that position vs. our own Cole Holcomb.
We did a fantastic job of sweet talking Holcomb this offseason, but he's been beaten like a red-headed stepchild all season. Whereas Connelly stepped in as a backup this week and had a fantastic game up to when he got injured. Both are late round rookie middle linebackers, but Connelly was playing fantastic and Holcomb has been the opposite. So what's the difference? Coaching is the first thing that comes to mind. It's another strike against Manusky and Gruden for hiring Manusky. |

I’m sure it will. My point was, Haskins won’t fix anything and Keenum isn’t the problem. The problems with this team run many, very deep, and go back 20 years Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Haskins had no reps this season. He was started in the middle of a game. No one, including myself, said he was going to light the team on fire. To give him the best chance to succeed: 1. Replace Gruden & Manusky 2. Give Haskins all the reps in full preparation for the Patriots. 3. Bring McLaurin and Scherff back. Then we’ll see Haskins get some experience and have some good and bad moments. Other teams have played their QB in their rookie season. Like the Giants today or the Eagles with Wentz a few seasons ago. In fact, it time for the new HC to try all all the young and rookie players, especially in positions where we know the FA veteran is leaving next season. We need to see who has a future on this franchise and who doesn’t. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
