Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
Is there ever a bottom to Mr. Synder's pocket? .. Good news.

Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
Remember though that this summer Saunders said he envisioned using Portis and Betts together on the field a lot. I'm sure he's got a bunch of tricks up his sleeve for the two of them in 2007

Provided that Saunders is still here, you can 'Betts' your bottom dollar on some good things from these two next year. |

What the team needs is a nice BBQ with family, team, and coaches so they can all get over their presonal issues with each other... Maybe they should all be forced to spend Christmas together.... |

Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
I think this signing is a great move, more for the signal that it sends than anything else. Aside from Samuels and Jansen, we haven't kept any of our drafted players. Betts gets it, he works hard, and he seems to appreciate being a Redskin. I'm glad the Skins finally showed their appreciation to one of their own.

Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
I really applaud the move, and I hope we'll move to re-sign some other guys too by the end of the season like Dockery.
Rumors are that Betts will get a bonus of about $6M or $7M. |

Wish we could give him AA's contract & send AA back out west somewhere. |

Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
why don't we just move AA to Guard when Dockery leaves, that move might be the one that puts us over the top.

Re: Ladell Betts contract extension
Im glad we stayed in house. To me Betts has been one of our core guys, even though he doesn't start. Im happy we signed him, he earned it

I have to admit I was down on him earlier but in recent weeks he's played very well and most of all I'd like to see us reward our own guys for once. |
