Re: New Washington Wizards/Bullets uniforms
I like the change. I too wish they would have simply done something about the name also. Honestly I'd have prefered the name be "Bullets" again. It was only changed because the owner didn't like the idea of gangs using his uniform. Guess what? I don't think there is a Pro team out there that does not have a gang wearing their uniform.
Get over it. Bring back the name. I too am happy seeing all the DC teams wearing red, white, and blue. It's a shame the Skins don't but should they ever have to change their name, please change the colors to reflect the Nations colors as the other teams have. |

They need to drop the bearded dude. He looks horrible re-colored.

Re: New Washington Wizards/Bullets uniforms
So apparently changing the name isn't so easy because of intellectual property/legal stuff. But it sounds like Ted would want to do it. At least he didn't shut the idea down at all. There is hope. I'd be up for a change to just about anything other than wizards.

Re: New Washington Wizards/Bullets uniforms
An old school song to express how I feel about the actual uniforms (not the logo and color scheme). "no no no no no."

Anyhow, I like the retro look and the nuances of the new logos. The Wizard logo looks horrible, but I think that'll be pushed to the wayside before long and replaced by the dc logo.

In fact, the NBA has a $500,000 fee to change a team's primary logo. This is why we still have a re-colored, bearded Wizard man, even if the team does not use him as a primary or at all. A lot of NBA teams have primary logos they don't use anymore, with their secondary/alternate logos being emphasized. That fee to change the primary is why. The Knicks, Hawks, Jazz, Wolves, Hornets, Cavaliers and Raptors are some of the teams not using their primary logos like primary logos.

Re: New Washington Wizards/Bullets uniforms
Does anyone recall the final list of names for the Bullets? Wasn't the name Wizards voted by the fans for the people?

Re: New Washington Wizards/Bullets uniforms
Well good thing none of the finalist among Dragons, Sea Dogs, and Wizards had anything to do with the KKK.

Love it - wish they could change the name back to the Bullets. Great step.
