What did Hasselbeck get in exchange for giving up #8 to Brunell?

Interesting to note that Iffy also refused to give up #26 to Chad Morton last year. The number must mean a lot to him but ironically enough he didn't even wear that number at USC. He was #31

Portis needs to be a man on this one
No way Ohalete should give up his number. Ask for it? No, not even that. The only way Portis should get #26 is if Ohalete volunteered it. You don't come on to a new team and start taking someone else's number. I hate f__ckin' me-first athletes and I sure hope someone helps Portis get his head on straight. The camraderie that Gibbs is bringing back to the 'skins doesn't mesh with that kind of player.

Well, I wouldnt go that far, bleedburgandy. I could understand the fact that Portis would like #26, but I dont see him making all that big of a deal out of it.

Hey... you'll notice... I have a Sean Taylor #26 Maddenskin too... Oh well, I'll just remake 'em when we get this all straightened out... I do need to get back crankin on my Maddenskins.... I have a SWEET new Coles one where he is jumping over Champ Bailey, making a catch on a long pass... I'll try and put that up today...

Drafting Sean Taylor would make Iffy expendable, but Taylor wears #26 as well. CP would take the number before Taylor had a shot at it but either way they both deserve the number more than Iffy.
In his defense I know I can be a stubborn person and I wouldnt want to give up my number. But for a cut of a 50 million dollar contract I might change my mind.

I don't see a big deal about the number anyways! I might if Portis has been around for years and has already proven himself as a hall of famer, but didn't Montana change his number when he went to K.C.? I could be wrong on that, but I thought he had changed his number to #17 or something like that.
#26 to me just seems like a weird number for a RB anyways. What about the numbers for Brunell and Hasselbeck? If TH stays with the team, we know who's gonna wind up with #8!

Hasselbeck switched to #4. And I think you're right Joe Montana switched to #19 in KC

Another reason Portis has going for him is the fact that the Redskins wanted him and traded a lot to get him. He wasnt a free agent pick up, he was part of a blockbuster trade and if they are going to go through all that effort to get him they might as well throw in the number.
