I am sadden to see Jackson still on this staff. I feel he stunted the growth of both Sean Taylor and Laron Landry. Please correct me if I am wrong about this.

yes, but he also turned doughty, moore, and horton into pretty good players. when the same coach turns nobodys into good/serviceable players and the development of top 10 draft picks seems stunted, i'm inclined to think the coach is good and its just the top 10 draft picks that were stubborn and/or immature. that said, the skins evidently chose jackson over gray - a real headscratcher unless gray really wanted to get out of DC and the skins let him go since he agreed to the sham interview.

What are you basing this on??

ST was breaking out and having his best season before he died.

Only Landry has regressed at the safety position, however, every CB has gotten worse and our rookie CB didn't even play.
I'd be more concerned about CB coaching than Safety...everyone other than Landry has been performing at or above their potential.

^ but before that season he had his worst statistical season. During that time I remember an artice questioning the setup of a secondary coach and a seperate safeties coach.

Jacob Burney, Denver DL coach, is taking the same position here. looking at denver's past defenses, this guy has got to be one of the worst DL coaches in the league. really dont understand thie one.

Re: Coaching Staff update

our special teams returns have been god awful the past few years except for a handful of moss returns.

with that being said, our special teams coverage unit was solid all year. i dont remember a team returning a kickoff or punt against us this year.

Re: Coaching Staff update

i am not a fan of cut blocking. just seemed kinda weak and cheap, diving at a guys legs the second the ball is snapped.

Well the term "Cut Blocking" is illegal in the NFL. No OL player can dive at the knees. They are supposed to aim for the hips, but if players are moving around it's possible someone might get caught in the knees. Plus they are not supposed to "cut block" at the hip if the defender is being hit high also.

i didnt know cut blocking was illegal, i think it should be. the bolded part i thought was termed "chop blocking" which i am very strongly against.

You are correct. I termed it wrong. Chop blocking is illegal. Cut blocking if done correctly the OL aims for the hips. Still can't hit high/low. Plus in cut blocking you can't hit from behind. They have to hit almost head on.

Re: Coaching Staff update

I found this article when Rick Trickett worked for WV.

Football: Offensive line coach admits WVU uses same zone-blocking schemes as Denver Broncos.
