It's about finding the right people. You shouldn't HAVE to force players to watch film in the NFL. They are in a business and if you can't perform in that business you get replaced.

Re: The everything Gruden thread

did anyone else see in last nights game at the half, camera shows all the players from both teams heading into the tunnel ... it then shows drew brees for a split second.

he is standing all alone on the sideline looking at film/screen grabs on his ipad.

they also showed a clip of him working on 3-5-7 step drops, talking about his work ethic and dedication.

sigh ...

Yes, I think a 22 year old kid suddenly finding himself on a big stage with $ needs to be coached/mentored.

Also might be common fucking sense, for fuck sakes.

This coaching staff is absolute trash and it's obvious every gameday. These public comments by players, past and current, shouldn't surprise I guess.

FO is also trash.

What scares me is the talk we can just expect more of the same

Jay Gruden gives lukewarm assessment of DeSean, praises Maclin | ProFootballTalk

Can this guy stop alienating players. Who wants to play for a guy who by nature will throw you to the wolves in the media. Snyder and Allen need to reel this noob in.

I said it somewhere earlier, Gruden looks like he's doing everything possible to prove he doesn't want this job anymore, maybe that he's not pro HC material.

It's a head scratcher the FO comes out in support and promises another year, just terrible management.

I'm reminded of the episode of Seinfeld where George tries to get fired from the Yankees

It's a head scratcher. The guy has been arguably the team MVP this year; his production goes down because of an injury and he gets called out for what he hasn't done "lately"? Wow. Was Gruden raised in a closet? He seems to have a first grader's understanding of people skills.

I no longer listen to or read a word Jay Gruden says anymore, unless it's commented on here. It really is appalling to me the way he talks about players in public.

We've got one more season of this loser and then we can move on to the next loser Snyder hires.

I think it's more that DJ has been mailing it in on his routes and the coaches know it. He's frustrated that the QBs can't get him the ball so he's half assing it. They talked about that on the radio Monday morning.

Might be because he's not 100% yet, heck one throw to him by RG3 sailed over his head and you could tell he didn't have the gas in the tank, he needs a little more time to get healthy.

As for Gruden:

Gruden is the kind of guy who likes to pass the buck, nothing is ever his fault, it's always someone else who isn't performing.

He can't get away with that for very long. If he doesn't win next year he'll be gone no matter how many people he blames.
