Might be because he's not 100% yet, heck one throw to him by RG3 sailed over his head and you could tell he didn't have the gas in the tank, he needs a little more time to get healthy.

As for Gruden:

Gruden is the kind of guy who likes to pass the buck, nothing is ever his fault, it's always someone else who isn't performing.
