See... this is what happens to a "positive" fan after a loss to an obviously inferior team. I've seen several of your posts after the game this week, and the majority of them follow the same theme, "I'm so sad, we suck". So don't call me a bad fan for pointing out the obvious.

Buying championships does not work! Ask Al Davis. Ask George Steinbrenner. Ask Paul Allen(Portland Trailblazers owner). Ask DANIAL SNYDER. It doesn't work because, just like the title of this thread, chemistry can't be bought.

Actually I'd say it's worked out pretty well for Steinbrenner but he's about the only one. What have the Yankees won, 4 championships in the last 10 years or so?

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

I dont understand the contradiction that is the Redskins. Gibbs is loyal to a fault to some guys, Brunell being one, Hall maybe another until now. And he always seems to want to build a close 'family' of a team and we are all together in this. But then the offseason comes and we throw more new pieces out there and wonder why its not clicking. We so desperately need a GM its not even funny.

I'm responding how any real fan would after a loss to an inferior team. Saying we "suck" is reality, because we did on Sunday. You however take that loss and consider it proof that we have ALWAYS sucked. When we lose you are all over this board bitching about how terrible we are. When we win you are all over this board bitching about how we didn't win the "right" way. I really have a hard time figuring out why in the hell you claim to be a Redskin fan.

You're responding how an ignorant homer responds to a shocking loss. And you must have me confused with someone else that "all over this board bitching" because I've posted about six times since the loss. Far less than all the "real" fans with their knee jerk reactions, screaming that Al Saunders sucks, bench Brunell, Rogers is useless, etc. So fine, continue to be a "real" fan, and talk about how great they are one week, and how much they suck the next, instead of just accepting the fact that the Washington Redskins are the same thing they've been for 10+ years. Erratic and mediocre.

And for whatever reason, you like to single me out, like I'm the only one that feels that way about this team, but there's far more people than you realize with my point of view. Probably half the members of this forum at this point in the season. A lot of them don't feel the need to post their feelings, because they don't feel like dealing with this kind of crap, but I could care less, so keep it coming.

Steinbrenner won when the majority of his good players were homegrown. Jeter, Bernie Williams, Andy Petite, etc. Since then, he's added Jason Giambi, A Rod, Clemens, Randy Johnsons, and Johnny Damon and won absolutely nothing.

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

Thank You with the Steinbrenner reality check. He has won nothing but the division since he started going free agent crazy. Much like our beloved Skins. And what are their issues- lack of chemistry (Arod/Jeter) and aging/over the hill veterans. Sound very familiar to us.

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

I'm no baseball expert so I can't make an educated post on the Yankees, but correct me if I'm wrong they seem to always have the highest payroll in baseball by far. I'm sure there had to have been a few high priced free agents mixed in there at some point along the way. No?

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

I just saw somebody made the Stienbrenner to Snyder comparison. Sure the Yankees did. But they won their titles when they had young players brought up through their system. They havent won when they started bringing in high priced veterans they got by trading prospects. Kinda like trading draft picks for vets. Of course there are exceptions.

They did have Clemens on the roster in their last World Series, but my point is, all his recent free agent spending sprees have amounted to nothing.

Mabye he should have said... buying a championship with a salary cap doesn't work. If theres no limit, then you can build an ultimate team.

If we had the zero-cap Redskins, I'm sure we wouldn't have any problems at CB depth, D-line depth, etc... so the analogy is probably not appropriate.

We're not "buying" a team. Mabye the thread should be "Chemistry can't be managed by tweaking the free agent system and abandoning the draft" Because thats probably more accurate. I know we have plenty of good players via FA... but the record stands... 2-4.. bust.

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

One thing is for sure, we have covered just about everything imagineable that is wrong with this team since that loss to the Titans on sunday. Just about everyone has a valid point about what is wrong, and what needs to be fixed. However, I wish it was as easy to fix what is wrong as it is to talk about what's wrong. I believe this FO needs to take a long hard look at how they do business so we don't have to continue being the brunt of everyone's jokes. The way this team has played so far this year is why we're so critized every year for our exotic splashes in the spring. These people laughing at us know the way we do business is not guarenteed to produce the desired result

We "MUST" change the way we do business.

Re: Chemistry can't be bought

Who the hell knows whats wrong.

I feel we have great players...I really think we did good this offseason.. I think we've got awesome coaches as well....

But we've seemed to have lost something...

Mabye it's really because Saunders is passing to much... our defense is growing tired because it's on the fields for so long... and it has an exponential effect. Smash mouth football is what this team was built to play... and untill we do so.. the problems will continue.

It's really anyones guess... I'm sick of talking about the Redskins, it hurts my head. I'm going to take a break, go make a sandwhich and ponder life or something.

You can make the argument that Brunell is over the hill. Perhaps Salave'a (not sure how old he is) But beyond him who is really aging/over the hill? Remember 2000 was 6 years ago.
