Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
Matty post is about right:
Hire a football lifer to help w/ this whole re-organization thing. Start now and do some major due dilegence....major. Talk to people, get opinions. Go after a young up and coming guy, like Polians son or someone else who's spent a long time in a quality organization Tell Vinny thanks but we're going in another direction...same w/ Zorn. Allow new GM to work w/ Dan in selecting a new head coach preferrably someone under 45 years of age. Address the fan base. We want to like Dan Snyder, give us some reasons. |

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
1-If he wants to attract a coach and GM then he has to wait till the season is over before firing Zorn and Cerrato. (shows patience and that he has changed)
2-Hire either Casserly or promote Morocco Brown to GM 3-Let the GM control all player personnel decisions and sign the checks.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
This is my solution and I base it on my belief that the offenses' problems are philosophical.
1. Fire Zorn and pay Bugel to be the interim coach 2. Hire Russ Grimm as Assistant head coach offense (or whatever stupid title they want to come up with) and tell the world that Grimm is the coach next season and he will get to bring his people in next year. 3. Let Bugel kick the crap out of our players. Start Tuesday's practice in pads and begin and end every practice with the Riggo drill for the rest of the year Redskins country club needs to be shut down immediately. Our offensive players are soft. Our playcalling is soft and our offensive identity is one of weakness. I don't even care about the scores of the games this year. We need to tell the world starting with our players that we are tougher than the guy lining up against us and we will be a physical football team win lose or draw. Then Snyder needs to step out of the picture and let Grimm create a team that has the qualities that made him the best lineman on arguably the best lines the NFL has seen. |

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
Cerrato goes before the coach goes. He seriously needs to get fired today. He needs to be fired for hiring a coach w/ no HC or OC experience, for the Jason Taylor trade and for the 08 draft. But I think we all need to remember that Joe Gibbs bough in Jason Campbell. And although he's not in the category of Heath Shuler bust, he has not become the QB we need him to be. Plus the draft picks that were given up to get him is also hurting us.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
Matty Snyder, why wait until the end of the year? Vinny has already taken away Zorn's balls...I mean playcalling.
After the Eagles game, you fire Zorn and Cerrato. Promote either Joe Bugel or Greg Blache to interim head coach. Then take a few weeks to hire a competent GM who's sole purpose isn't to lose racquetball to Snyder each week, and have him evaluate the team and coaches. I think the defensive coaching staff with Gray promoted to DC is pretty solid. So it's a matter of finding a philosophy that matches whatever offensive personnel will be left after the season's over. This team doesn't need a big name guy (Shanny, Gruden, etc) to be successful. Just needs a meddling owner to stay out of personnel and team matters.

Now here is the tricky part....how do we get these great ideas to DS and get him to live and learn it? It doesn't seem that difficult.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
OK If I am Dan Snyder here is what I do:
Nothing- I got a butt load of money, I have surounded myself with yes men and my team has a fan base that is loyal. I will sit in my office plan how much to raise ticket, beer and parking prices next year and continue to play human fantasy football while my team goes in the crapper. oh wait, that is the real Snyder and the question was what will I do if i was him...Hmm something different than that....

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
Washington needs housecleaning at every level of the organization.
1. Fire Vinny and the entire coaching staff at the end of the year. No use firing them sooner, things are not going to get any better. 2. Reorganize. Hire a strong and experienced general manager and give him full authority to build a winning franchise. Hire coaching staff that fits his philosophy. 3. The Redskins should completely rebuild their offense. The only keeper in my book is Chris Cooley, maybe Santana Moss if the contract is right. Everyone else is expendable. 4. Clean house on defense as well. Smoot, Rodgers, Griffin, and Daniels are at the top of the list of expendables. 5. Build through the draft. Get whatever draft picks you can acquire from the overpaid, under performing, unmotivated, dead weight veterans. 6. Give the front office and coaching staff ample time to rebuild through the draft. Don't comeback next year and start another free agent spending spree.

As Redskins big time free agency transactions have proven, players don't necessarily translate to other schemes. If our next coach doesn't need any those players, I'm completely fine with that. Smoke 'em if you got 'em. Our next coach should be appointing the players he wants for his team next year.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
NO, I'm not giving the defense a free pass. This so called top 5 defense can't get off the field when it counts. They have played 5 of the worse teams in football and I'm not seeing a dominating effort. They are losing the time of possession battle and defense on third down is not that good. If they are a top 5 defense they should be creating easy scoring opportunities for the offense as opposed to allowing teams to hold onto the ball forever.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
Don't piss on the D. If the Offense could stay on the field for more than 3 downs than the D would shut teams down.

Re: You're Dan Snyder, what's your move?
There are some tweaks that can be made to the D sure, but you can't clean house on both sides of the ball. The D ain't broke, no need to fix it. We'll have our hands full rebuilding the OL and finding a QB.
