We'll have to see first is Gardner is expendable... im not quite conviced yet that he is. thats a lot of players to give up but we could afford to lose all of them. Id be nice to fill all of a teams needs and pick up that pick.

They are all players that have been either replaced or we're planning on replacing soon. I really think Taylor Jacobs will be special. Let him get some play time!

I agree give Taylor jacobs some playing time, but before we unload Gardner.
Taylor Jacobs could be another Ladell Betts, constantly getting hurt. He looks good early every year in informal shorts and helmets, non-contact drills.
But when the hitting started EARLY last season, we lost him for almost the entire year. He needs to prove he can stay healthy and be a consistent contibuter, before we unload Gardner for peanuts.
Another reason I don't like the idea of unloading Gardner is Cerrato/Snyder have proven year after year they can not find starting talent after the third round.
What good is a 3rd to 5th round pick for Gardner if we can't find a starting caliber player in the draft with that pick? We would basically give Gardner away for nothing if the player selected with that pick does not pan out

Jacob's injury last year really was a freak thing. It wasn't due to a lack of conditioning or toughness like some suspect might be the case with Betts.

Still, I hear your point. I too am not very impressed with camp heroes, let's see it on the field when the bullets are live.

Until Gardner demands a big paycheck theres no point in getting rid of him, hes not hurting our team... Next year if he wants big money then we'll put a tag on him.. Hopefully a year with Gibbs will help us the Skins from having to keep paying top dollar
