The Giants have 19 coaches on staff. The Patriots 14. We had 21. Now that Joe is gone, who is to say that Gregg wouldnt clean up the coaching roster some.

It's pretty obvious Danny understands that good QBs are the key piece to a consistent playoff team. More than one "league expert" thinks Jason Campbell has all the tools necessary to be a pro-bowl QB. Fassel played QB in college, developed Simms and Elway, and went to a super bowl with Kerry Cocktail at the helm. Zorn was a good QB himself in Seattle and has developed Hasselbeck into a perennial pro-bowler. No doubt Danny is trying to making sure Jason has the best tutelage possible. I just hope he's right about axing Saunders.

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
We lost Gibbs...the "continuity" and "chemistry" is irrelevant. Initially I was against the Fassel over Williams choice....but Fassel steering the ship, Ryan coaching D and the ?Seattle guy calling the offense, it might work. Dallas did a VERY similar thing and won 13 games. That being said, this could be a disaster. Its Snyder's world, we're just living in it.

What is everyone going to say if we find out Joe Gibbs was involved in some form with this hiring?

If that ever came out, I would lose a lot of respect for Gibbs. Williams was arguably the team's best coach during Gibbs 2.0. If not for his defense keeping the team in most every game, the last 4 years would have been an utter failure.

Man, I never thought of it that way. What would Gibbs 2.0 have looked like with anyone but Gregg Williams running the D? Scary thought. Very scary. |

I understand what you are saying here but there are many coaches that have been great coordinators that could not get it done as a head coach. If Gibbs felt this way about Williams then that could have possibly swayed the final decision here.

I don't want any of these guys. We are on the brink of being a top NFC team and to blow it all up it just really stupid.

Re: Fassel, Ryan and Zorn, oh my!
I am sorry, but I don't see how this is a good move for us. We are getting rid of a coaching staff that made the playoffs and now they are being replaced by guy who hasn't been in coaching in four years, hasn't had any offers and was fired from his last job as O-Coordinator of the worst offense in the league. I guess when you try to run your sports team like a business, this is what you get. I guess dan and vinny are ideating.

If we don't win next year it's going to get real ugly in DC.
