I think one of the things that is really messed up is the age of consent. Don't get me wrong, i'm not a pedophile, it's just that the law doesn't care if two 12 year olds are screwing like rabbits, but the minute somebody is 18 having sex with a minor, it's the end of the world.

Rape is still rape, but i see so many young men, and young women, whose lives get destroyed because of this age of consent stuff. The law doesnt care that they both wanted to have consensual sex, only that one person was legally an adult and therefore it is a crime.

Snake , 16 year olds can have sex ,with other 16 year olds , when an adult starts having sex with a minor , thats when it becomes a crime . As far as an 18 year old having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend , i agree that he should not be charged with a crime , that seems plain stupid . Now as far as you having 5 years on your wife , well you are both adults , however if you were 18 and having sex with a 13 year old ,,,,, thats a crime < not saying you were or even knew her then > , but if an 18 year old even attempted to hook up with either my 13 or 15 year old niece ... he would be safer in police custody then if I walked in on them . My wife was 17, and 3 months away from turning 18. I was almost 22. I get your point though, and fully understand. We did not marry until she was 19. I was 23 years old at the time. Her parents knew we were dating and we had their full support and blessing.

budw - man, i hope you dont open it up when theres traffic. i got no probs with people doing 100 when the coast is relatively clear but when its 5:30 pm on a tues and your trying to do 100 mph in traffic on I-95, your just putting everyones lives in danger.

not preachin, well maybe i am, but as a guy who spends 2-3 hours a day on highways, i see that crap in the video way to often. alot of times putting other people in danger.

check the chad jones thread for some perspective.

but please please please dont open it up in traffic and swerve and slam on brakes. when you speed then try and squeeze into a tight spot between 2 cars in an attempt to lane change, you are putting people in danger who just want to get home to their kids and family and some cold ones.

Hey ,I thought you knew that ws a clip from youtube < I think Ca. > .... that is not me driving , nor do I know who is . I did have a hotrod '71 chevy , but I would never drive like that with other cars on the road , or go from lane to lane . Im 45 years old , have lost 4 good friends over the years from car /motorcycle accidents , honestly , for what it is worth , i have a great deal of respect for our roads and other drivers , bikers and cyclists . And I do not drink and drive , sorry if you thought one of you warpath brothers would behave that way .... have a great weekend.

You're right, b/c demagogues and evil individuals used hyperbole and fear mongering to completely sublimate individual rights to those of hte state, there is never an instance where society has a right or interest in examining the societal health and attempting to come to a balance between that and individual liberties.

Whether you like it or not, you exist as part of and in a larger group the vast majority of whom aren't related to you. So guess what, your individual rights are not unlimited. The rest of us have some say on actions you may take that affect us.

Firstdown and Buster, you are just assuming, asserting that some strange town behaving strangely is part and parcel of a larger "left" plot to ultimately show porn in schools and discredit the bible or whatever, and not just the bizarre and somewhat inexplicable maneuvering of an obscure school board in the middle of nowhere (a school board which may in fact be solidly republican, although that's unlikely). And even if the school board is predominantly liberal, or ick, even gay, from what do you conclude that their goofy school boarding represents some sort of larger political trend? This is what I term the outrage culture, in which the media spoon feeds people largely meaningless, completely symbolic stories about people in other towns doing crazy outrageous things, and tells these people that said stories somehow represent larger national trends, in this case the left's plan to turn your cute little first grader into a camel porn watching fornicating gay Muslim, meanwhile distracting from issues of actual substance. This is a non-issue. If you don't like the board's policy, don't move to that town. End of story.

Second, Buster, you should really see a therapist. So much anger! At least Firstdown seems like a nice guy.

Third, USA! I'm proud of our boys, hell of a world cup.
