I wouldn't mind bringing him in on a short term deal. Given his age though I wouldn't want to rely on him for more than a couple seasons.

Slim chance of his coming here. Both sides have too many reasons to see it as not a good fit. It would probably cost $5-6MM per year for 2 or 3 years to make it happen.

I agree and other teams will probably be bidding for him aggressively.

Considering most people's rosters are basically set and cap accounted for, I think he'll be hard pressed to find any takers with that kind of salary range.

True, but a player of this caliber doesn't usually hit the market this late...he will have a handful of suitors. I think Mathis is a top 10 guard in the league, maybe top 5.

I would pass, but keim and mort said skins may have a little interest.

Interesting article:

Why Russell Wilson isn't an elite QB - NFL

Regardless of Wilson's metrics, teams have to overpay franchise QBs to keep them from hitting the free market. I'm really curious to see how Pete Carol keeps his team together when he has to start paying all these players he got at a bargain price (i.e. Sherman, Wilson).

No way Seattle wins a Super Bowl without him though...if you base everything on stats then you dont get it.

What do you think the market will be for Wilson if Seattle would let him walk?

All that money Broncos paid Peyton...no return, but his stats are amazing. Wilson has something Peyton doesnt, and thats why he can command the salary that is coming to him.

Interesting question. I don't know. I suspect someone would make him the richest QB in the league, but I am not 100% certain of that. Would he get Peyton (or whoever is top dog money-wise at the moment) if he walked? Or, would the market build in a discount based on a perception that he benefitted from the talent around him and the defense in Seattle.
