Interesting article:
Why Russell Wilson isn't an elite QB - NFL Regardless of Wilson's metrics, teams have to overpay franchise QBs to keep them from hitting the free market. I'm really curious to see how Pete Carol keeps his team together when he has to start paying all these players he got at a bargain price (i.e. Sherman, Wilson).

I think Wilson should be paid, as long as his guaranteed money doesn't surpasses Luck's. He should definitely get more money than Cam Newton.

Seattle had Lynch and that defense before Wilson got there. They aren't crazy enough to go back to the mediocre QB wasteland. Seattle offense jumped from middling to top 5 when Russ got there. Now we know its a 'passing league' and Wilson doesn't post flashy passing numbers but he has a huge impact on the running game and to borrow a cliche: Russ makes big time plays in big time situations. Nevermind that Seattle's OL and receiving corps are average at best.
