A1. Initially, the patient is non weight bearing for 2 weeks. The patient can then wean off of the crutches when they can walk without a limp between weeks 2-6. Slow rehab will be allowed at this time while the bone is still healing in the tunnels. Activities are usually increased from weeks 7 through 12. Around week 12, some patients return to jogging. Wasn't it far more extensive than just an ACL, though? Didn't he have the LCL torn as well? That requires more time to heal I thought due the fact that it had to be ostensibly stationary for the majority of the rehab process... (I could be making that up).
Either way, I'm an overly cautious person. If I'm the GM I wouldn't allow him to play until week 4 at the earliest regardless of if he's healthy and in shape by week 1.
