Re: First game preview: Redskins vs. Bears

The only thing that we really know about opening day is that two teams that were good on defense and bad on offense are playing. The team that won last year has home field advantage. The team with home field advantage also won last year.
Also, last years losing team will be starting a rookie third round QB against last years 3rd best defense.

Predictions? Conclusions? Anyone???

Nothing. We killed them once and we should have one the first one if not for the turnovers. The only team in recent memory that's done really well with a rookie QB is Shittsburgh, and I don't think we're going to see that again this year, especially not with Orton and the bears. So far this year, it looks like we've improved in just about every area. We may not blow the bears out, but I definitely feel good about a win. I'm going to be in chicago that sunday on business unfortunately and I'm definitely going to be packing the jersey.:headbange
Honestly, I would be suprised if we didn't beat the Bears by at least 17. I know that's optomistic, but I'm not impressed with them at all.

Re: First game preview: Redskins vs. Bears

it's kind of sad how they see themselves being a playoff threat while being led by 2 rookies, one of which hasn't even suited up yet and another who has been playing against the backups and the backups of the backups, and an old wr who as I posted there before last year had only averaged 49 catches, 793 yards, and 3 1/2 tds a year. and the witty comebacks of "You and the Redskins suck." are priceless .

We'll see how Mushin does this year. He had a lot more help around him in Carolina, including a better defense, IMO. He doesn't have the same caliber QB, nor the same weapons in the backfield to keep the defense honest. I don't see us having any problems keeping him in check. It's going to be to fun watching their "elite" rookie QB get blitzed by Sean Springs all day

I was watching the Cedric Benson interview after he signed and I didn't get the impression he was excited about suiting up for the Bears.....but that's just me.

i think benson's shelf life has been seriously shortened by the amount of carries he had in college- they ran him into the ground. i also think that's why he was the last holdout in the first round; he wanted the guaranteed money just in case. he's probably not too excited suiting up for Chicago b/c they're probably planning on running him just as much as they did at UT for the next few seasons.

Bears fans will never get over Darrell Green's punt return at Soldier field in the playoffs.
The Bears DE's are really good, but neither one in over 265lbs. There's gonna be a whole lot of handoffs in that game.

Actually, last year's game was in Chicago, so the team with home field advantage lost....the team with the better defense won. This year will be similar, except our offense will tear it up as well. I think the Skins will score close to 30 points, while the Bears will have a hard time finding the end zone.
