I feel bad for RG. He's got a coach/FO who wants to run his wheels off and refuses to address the piss-poor pass protection. I think we're lucky RG is a high-character kid, because some franchise players would (justifiably) start acting dodgy at this point.
This isnt working.

Is it in the realm of possibility, that a team would trade us next years first for our 2nd this year, maybe we throw in a late round this year? It would be nice to be back in the 1st round next year.

You base a lot of your comments on the RT position not being even average, which it wasn't, but that isn't what led to the bulk of Griffin's hits (beat dead horse here). So why wouldn't we improve the areas that would actually keep Griffin from getting hits (ie playmakers on offense, or a defense that doesn't make Griffin feel the need to go all Superman on the other team's a**), and try to develop RT from within. Shanahan has been known to be pretty good at that sort of thing.

I don't know about the rest. If there's one thing Shanny has succeeded at here it's the offensive weapons, though I'd like to see less of the one-man show that has RG keeping the ball. But anyways, the line was a piece of Swiss cheese pass-blocking. I can't even remember how many times I facepalmed after watching rushers blow by RT (I've decided he'll no longer be referred to by name, cuz it's not deserved). He was so unbelievably bad. Did someone post a stat recently that had him the worst RT in pro football?

The thing is, our interior can be pretty awful pass-blocking too. Hopefully it improves this year based on Kory L getting to full strength.

I can accept we're not going to give RG perfect protection, but we're so bad at this point it's really hard to not focus on the line.

51st pick?
Look who was a 51st pick.....

HARRIS: With pick No. 51 in NFL draft, Redskins could use a Clinton Portis - Washington Times

Terrance Williams | Baylor, WR : 2013 NFL Draft Scout Player Profile

6'2 4.4 speed

Seems like he could be a playmaker at 51 or by trading back and taking him later in the 2nd or early third

Re: Redskins 2013 Draft News & Rumors

Terrance Williams reminds me of Michael Crabtree with more speed.

Re: Redskins 2013 Draft News & Rumors

Williams is tall, fast and has really good body control. BUT ... watch his routes. Not particularly crisp - rounded cuts, drifting out of lanes. If that can be coached up, I wouldn't mind having him at all.

Not to mention the obvious connection, CP was begging for ST I know it was different management but ya never know if III may really want his old running mate.
