As far as I am concerned, anyone with eyes last year saw that Cooley was done. Period. Scheme and "chances" had nothing to do with it. I'm a Cooley fan...but stick a fork in him.

We need to move on from the mindset of the Vinny Cerrato era where we'd cling to aging vets like Brian Kozlowski and Todd Yoder out of nostalgia and loyalty over what's good for the team's future.

Between Paulsen, Davis, and Paul, we're loaded. IMO hopefully Davis will avoid suspension. Paulsen is a decent blocker and traditional TE reciever not the modern "WR playing TE" guy. I'm a big Cooley fan, but honestly I don't think it is a big deal if he is on the team or off the team. Personally, I don't think he's the 50 year old TE people make him out to be and it's not like we need an all-pro at the third string TE position. Likewise, I don't think it will be the end of the world if he is not on the team. Honestly, I don't know why people get all riled up at for either situation.

Actually I think Ruhskins pretty much nailed it. Personally I think he has something left to offer...I get my eyes checked in 3 weeks...but it's not gonna make or break the team either way.

I love Cooley and would like to see him get another full training camp with us before they shut the door but also would not hurt my feelings to see him sign a one day contract and retire a skin for life.
