Re: Sam Huff
Could the radio really stand to have 2 huge homers like Larry and Joey T in the same booth? Should be a FCC regulation against it.

Re: Sam Huff
Truth be told, and Frank would never admit this, but Herzog wanted out. He didn't like the way it was done and he enjoyed hanging out with Sonny (not as much Sam). But he wasn't really enjoying it anymore and his disinterest was pretty obvious to those (myself included) who worked with him during the week

Re: Sam Huff
Sonny, Sam, & Frank were really good and fun to listen to. When Frank left something changed and Sonny & Sam didnt seem as good anymore. Maybe Frank knew how to bring out the best in them and make them look good.
I dont have a problem with Larry M, he's a solid play by play guy. I'm not sure I could stand Doc in the booth as his cliches get old fast. I dont think I could stand Joe T either. Maybe D. Green would be interested. |

Re: Sam Huff
I think the reason I dislike Larry so much is because everytime I hear him talk, he acts like we are fielding a team of All-Pro's. And whenever I hear one of his calls when we have a big play (like on NFLN highlights/etc.) it just doesn't sound good for whatever reason. Either way, the only time I hear him is on the highlight calls, so it's not a big deal to me.

Re: Sam Huff
Gmanc711 sorta nailed it. We haven't had much football to enjoy since LM has been around.

Re: Sam Huff
I'm a big fan of Larry Michael.
OF COURSE he's going to be over-the-top optimistic, the team pays him to be. I think he's a good game commentator and I try to catch Redskins Nation every morning on CSN while eating breakfast. I'd rather listen to someone with Larry's love and almost blind optimism for the team than someone like Lavar or Brian Mitchell complain about the team. Sometimes, things have gone so badly, he helps keep you sane with his attitude. He had nothing but faith in Cousins all year and when RGIII went down, he wasn't proclaiming the end of the world and look, Kirk actually lived up to Larry Michael's praises.

You have not heard anything until you've listened to the Eagles radio brodcasts in PA...they're more than homers, they're completely delusional and are really bitter towards us. They're just as trashy as their fans who cheer opponents' injuries. I had to suffer through them on the radio for car trip when we played them last season.

Re: Sam Huff
That'll work, but I'd rather have him on TV.
