An undrafted free agent signee isn't going to replace Eddie George any time soon.
Eddie still has some gas in his tank... Tennessee's OL had some issues this year and the play calling was way too predictable. |

I saw Strother play in an all-star game and liked what I saw there. Probably he can make the practice squad this year or maybe play special teams (he covered kicks in the all-star game). If he has to play lots of snaps on defense, that means there has been an epidemic of injuries to the LBs and it will be a long season for the Skins.
I saw Maryland play several times last year. Neither of these guys impressed me a whole lot. I saw BYU play once. I do not recall Quinn Christensen at all. Is he related to todd Christensen who spells his name that way and went to BYU (if memory is still working). |

Hey SkinsFan - Fear the Turtle - Because the Turtle fears no one!!
With that said, I don't think Perry is really much of a steal - The whole "if he's healthy" is a pretty big "if" given his size and work habits. Also, even healthy, I don't think he's got it for the pros. He is not a particularly hard worker, seems to try and get by on talent. Also, I think he runs high and isn't very instinctive in his running. Don't know what the scouts say about him but he always seemed hesitant as he approached the line while looking for a whole. That's fine in college but won't cut it in the pros (see John Avery). To me, he was fairly talented college back with some good natural skills. I am just not sure that will translate to the pro level. I hope he makes it but I think he will be a role player at best. Even if he does make it, he'll probably be out of the league in two or three years. |
