I understand that with the injury and the missed offseason he is still, in practical terms a rookie.

My concern is with his ego. He appears to believe he knows it all despite blindingly obvious evidence to the contrary. Is it possible to improve significantly when you don't believe you need to?

That is my concern.

I think that is a fair concern. But note my Cam Newton comment above - if Cam can learn to rise above his narcissism to be productive in year three, so can RGIII IMO. Perhaps the off season will include some helpful RGIII soul searching.
