Indoor outdoor wasn't part of the discussion, just why some places are more docile than others. My Rustbelt statement was economic in nature. We make cars up here in Detroit, while in E Ohio and Pittsburgh you have steel mill types. Sure there are white collar Lions and Steeler fans, but each city has its own persona from what it is known for. The origin of the entire discussion was based on why some people are more into sports than others with regards to DC fans of the different DC teams. I have been at many venues for both college and pro sporting events. Blue collar types usually are louder and more rabid than white collar types. What stadium is louder usually Heinz or Fed Ex? You have the white collar corporate types in the boxes, but who is in the stands? Blue collar types generally are more fanatic about their sports. You could probably say that younger fans are louder as well, etc. I don't see that as being so ridiculous as it is based on 33 years of observation at many different venues.
