I just don't see the logic in letting above average, home grown talent walk, and creating another hole that needs to be filled. This team is rarely successful at signing 'value' guys and getting them to perform above their pay grade.

What's wrong with stabilizing a position with a known commodity that gives you above average production? If the other option is rolling the dice on an upside guy just to save some money, I'd prefer the known commodity. Otherwise, you end up getting stuck with Doughty and Wilson as starters, rather than Rogers and Landry.
