I haven't been there since I was a tot but here is what I would do.
See Statue of Liberty See Ellis island Take a ferry to New Jersey and back just for the picture taking. Go to the 9/11 Memorial site and do whatever there is to do there. Hang out at Battery Park. Find the best pastrami sandwich restaurants.
