I doubt it would do that. No reason why we can't sign Jackson and re-sign Rak, Kerrigan, Griffin, or Morris.

I'm with you. A front-loaded contract for DJax puts us in trouble for this year (we still have a starting FS and some other folks to sign, after all). A back-loaded contract puts us in trouble when it is time to sign the players you mentioned to a long-term deal.
