I am not saying we need to blow him away, but it needs to be structured to give him a way to know he will be happy.

I'm guessing part of it is he doesn't want to risk being in the same spot a couple years from now. From what I understand his contract with the Eagles made the cap implications of releasing him virtually non-existent. As a result they were able to let him go at the drop of a hat.

A more generous signing bonus and years as has been suggested would require any team signing him to jump through more hoops should they have a change in heart.
