Think of all the unreported incidents, probably the only thing that kept the cops getting off due to "professional courtesy" was the fact there were victims and witnesses that weren't cops. Years ago had a friend married to a California Highway Patrol officer one time after a long night of drinking she ran off the road missing the off ramp and went into a drainage ditch. First thing when the CHP walked up to the car the cop has the breathalyzer in his hand. She shows her badge and doesn't even get tested. The cop immediately gave them a ride home a had their car towed to their house.
