I forget whether it was McShay or Kiper, but one of them said on the ESPN broadcast that he had Long rated #25 overall (First Rounder) until he got hurt.

I suspect that the Skins are following their draft board (which is what Bruce said they would do) without worrying about in-draft strategy. You may have noticed how quickly the Skins made their picks. Maybe the players they drafted were simply at the top of the Skins' draft board at the time they were picked.

Personally I couldn't care less where others have players rated as long as we get players who can help us get better and deeper. This pick reminds me that Russ Grimm was a third round pick. I lived in Pittsburgh at the time of the 1981 draft and I thought that Russ was the best college center I had ever seen when he was at Pitt. Also in 1981, the Skins signed the great Joe Jacoby as an UDFA. So, we'll see what we have in Long when he gets here.
