Technically amphetamines work differently on different people. For me it tends to calm me down, especially after the 30 minute mark. I still get an energy boost but at the same time I become a lot quieter. In fact my own Mothers words from when I was a kid were 'you are so much more pleasant when you've taken your adderall.' Thanks Mom.
However from what I understand the majority of people similar drugs will only get the energy boost and end up bouncing off the walls for the however long the drug is in their system. I didn't need a doctor to tell me back in High School that taking amphetamines late enough where they would still be in my system after school for football practice was a bad idea. Even if I discounted the risk of heat stroke and dehydration, the shot to any semblance of physical endurance alone was reason enough.
