![]() I have something like this for my mac: http://amzn.com/B00C28L51G Plug one end into the mac, the other end plugs into the HDMI cable to my tv. I can then put anything I want on my mac on the TV and it'll pass sound ![]() the problem is I don't know jack crap about the ipads so I have no idea how that works with an ipad or what adapters you have available. it looks like you can definitely get an adapter to go from your iPad to your TV via HDMI: How to Connect Your iPad to Your TV Apple also sells a VGA adapter so you can run it to a monitor or an older TV, as well as providing an S Video/composite cables: how do you connect the iPad to a TV to watch movies? - Apple Store (U.S.) Generally speaking I'm always willing to help with this stuff, but I simply don't have an iPad to test with and I've never done it before so I can't make any specific recommendations that I'd feel comfortable knowing you spent money on ![]() But, generally speaking again... if you have a way to put the picture from your iPad on your tv (as outlined above) then you can run the app and have it play on your TV. The AppleTV support is a specific case and there's some reason it doesn't work - my two guesses, as listed before, are a format/resolution issue or AppleTV explicitly blocking it at DirecTV's request. If you can get your picture up there via one of those adapters I fail to see why it wouldn't work. |
