See, I don't believe this. I believe they were aware when it happened back in July. I don't believe for one second the NFL teams don't have people inside of police departments to notify them when something happens involving a player.

There apparently is concern for Dwyer's mental health. The police report on the two incidents contains references to suicide.

During his police interview, Dwyer acknowledged hiding in the bathroom when police responded to the first argument and sending a photo of a knife with suicidal threats. Dwyer denied committing an assault, though he acknowledged that he punched walls in his home, threw a phone and that his wife bit his lip during the disputes, according to the police report. As he was released from jail Thursday, he said he never hurt his son.

I mean the guys a scumbag but I certainly wouldn't wish to have him kill himself over this. Honestly if this is true I kind of feel sorry for the guy and really hope that he can get help. I honestly hate it when theres complications. I'd rather just be able to say the guys a prick and we shouldn't feel bad about locking him up.

Though at this point what might scare me even further is if someone in the future realizes that they can get leniency and sympathy by feigning suicidal thoughts.
