False. There is no evidence qb's can only get better after 5 starts in the NFL. Just for shits and giggles, anyone remember Billy Volek? Also, if I may, why do you think Cousins can only get better from here? Do you not feel the same way about RG3? Say what you want about his injuries but there's no way he calls it a career or decides to accept anything less than a starting job when he gets fully healthy.

Honestly I have no idea what road we're going to go down when both RG3 and Cousins are healthy. Anything is possible, especially in the winning-centric NFL. But I think the odds are just as good that we might've seen Cousins' career highlight game last week as they are that he will win a starting job somewhere once this "tryout" is over.
While there are no guarantees, there are far more examples of young QBs who got better with more playing time than worse. Kirk may have peaked, but odds are he hasn't. Your examples are more the exception than the rule.
